Delurk and Proclaim

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting A few sharp readers have picked up on the fact that I have an issue with VELVEETA CHEESE. It's true. I L-O-T-H-E the stuff. The same way I lothe fake profiles. They're very similar if you think about it. Velveeta is a "cheese product" ... NO REAL DAIRY GOODNESS in it anywhere. Fake Profiles are "chessey" products. Velveeta (and her evil twin sister) "American Cheese" are mostly made up unfermented dairy ingredients, plus emulsifiers, extra salt, and food colorings. YUCK. For the life of me I do not know why anyone would want to consume those two products. Here are some other things on my “do not care to eat” list:
  1. VELVEETA
  2. American Cheese
  3. Spam
  4. Nachos found at ball-parks, concerts, or cheep bars – you know the kind. Overly salty round chips and melted, day-glow, orange, plastic cheese!
  5. Vienna Sausages
  6. ”Potted Meat”
  7. Dried Milk
  8. Meat in a jar – (not even sure what it’s called – but its thinly sliced, I’m sure salty, and in a glass jar)
  9. Canned chili
  10. Canned tamales
  11. Canned Lima Beans – fresh Lima Beans however are fine
  12. Pre-formed link sausage that doesn’t have a casing
  13. Pre-formed sausage patties (like in McMuffins)
  14. Any frozen breakfast item
  15. Almost ALL frozen dinners
  16. ”Nips” < - - it’s a southern thing … will not eat them, no matter what!
  17. Jack-in-the-Box “Mystery” Meat Tacos with fake cheese!
What are some of the things you absolutely won’t eat? It’s De-Lurking week, so here's the deal: In the comments proclaim a food you can't stand to eat, identify yourself and where you're from! (Anonymous is fine, just leave a location)

Instant grits or instant oatmeal. But actually, I don't like the "real" version of either all that much.

I've seen ads for frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Has it really come to that - that people are too busy/lazy to make a freaking peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

But actually I like rotel dip made with Velveeta. Sorry.

One of the more disgusting uses of Velveeta was at a cooking class at a prominent gourmet shop in Jackson, Miss., wherein the teacher took a blog of Velveeta, flattened it with a rolling pin, rolled it out (it was basically like bright orange plastic playdoh) and then filled it with cream cheese (!) and I don't know, bacon bits and chopped green onions? I can't remember as I was so horrified by the rolling out of the Velveeta. (shudder)

Won't eat Spam(tm)? My God, woman, what is wrong with you? Spam is the food of the gods! Are you *sure* you're my doppleganger? ;)

As for what I won't eat: bugs. Yes, this includes shrimp, crawfish, and lobster. I don't care how good they are drenched in butter or steamed or in cocktail sauce or covered in seasoning if it looked like something I should hit with a shoe while it was alive it ain't going in my mouth.

As for the cheese: I'd argue that you're not talking about American Cheese you're talking about individually wrapped slices of "pasteurized process American cheese food" where it's a toss up which tastes better the orange stuff or the clear plastic wrapper it came in.
