Slumming in a Cotton Field

Ms. Mit is busy working on her presentation for tomorrow so tonight’s blog is brought to you by guest blogger I H8 24.
*********

Mitter was nervous about her presentation today, but as usual, she did a wonderful job. Everybody in the room was attentive and never once acted like they would rather be in the casino.

Lunch for Mitter was at the “Paula Deen Buffet”. We all know how she is when it comes to fried food, so I’m sure that she started her meal with a big plate of fried butter topped with mayonnaise, cream cheese, and sour cream. I opted not to ask her to have lunch with our group as we were having grilled chicken Caesar salads.

Supper was at the Hollywood Café mentioned in John Gisham’s “In a Time to Kill” and sung about in Marc Cohen’s song, “Walkin’ in Memphis”. We started our meal with an appetizer platter consisting of fried dill pickles, fried green tomatoes, and fried onion rings. Mit had a filet as her entrée; Betty-Boop, friend and gin employee, had grilled catfish; Mr. Fish, my husband, ordered the fried catfish and shrimp, and I had the grilled shrimp platter. It all was very tasty, and we washed it down with scotch, Michelob Light and Cosmopolitans.

After dinner, we returned back to Mitter’s room to drink beer, blog, and put together a presentation.

Ok, as would be only Mit’s luck, the Terrace Hotel was out of rooms designated for the seminar when she checked in. She was told that she would be put in, “another room”. She didn’t say anything about her room mix up when she invited us up to see her “little place”. Let me tell you, this was a HOUSE!!

She had two bathrooms, a dinning room (a dinning room table bigger than our single-wide back home), living room, and a huge king size bedroom. In the master bathroom there’s a 25 inch color TV sitting at the foot of the double Jacuzzi which came complete with a waterfall on each side, and a three headed shower. She’s living in the “High Roller’s Suite” and nice enough to share it with us, who are down on the fourth floor in a “king sized room” who’s highlight is the mini-fridge in the cabinet under the television, and Ms. Betty-Boop in an adjoining room!!!

So here we are sharing what’s gone on in our lives since seeing ech other in February. Mr. Fish and I will soon go over to the casino and try to win the big bucks and leave Ms. Mit to her self-set 9:00 pm curfew.

Tomorrow will be another day and once again she will be “center stage” with all her customers vying for her attention, but in my heart, I know I’m her favorite!
