I think what's wrong with the picture is that someone is willing to pay $45 for a pair of (what I understand are generally) cheapshit panties. But I don't know of any way to keep someone from spending that much money (and similarly, from offering such goods so expensively).

Is there any move to contract growing in the cotton industry? It seems like more and more edibles are being grown under contract, and there's less and less of farmers taking goods to market.

And like those women wearing the Victoria's Secret panties, the cotton farmer is also getting s------!!!

Joe Forward contracts are generally only offered when the market is tight. Right now cotton stocks are in a carry-over position.

9.2 m/b for the US alone. (m/b - Million bales)

52.59 m/b for the World

This indicates a 43.2% Ending Stock/Use ration in the world and a 49.9% Ending Stock/Use ration in the U.S.

As one of my mentors, "Hawk", always said, "The cure for low prices is low prices." Meaning if the price stays low enough farmers will rotate into another crop. I think we're in that cycle now. It's painful, but the way the market works. (In its most basic form, ignoring Government Subsidies, WTO, and wacky China.)
