My house
S’out of the ordinary
That’s might
Don’t want to hurt nobody
Some things sure can sweep me off my feet

It’s typical – you look forward to going home. Early in the morning you pack your luggage. Bundle the computer, wireless router, and 100 other odds and ends into the suitcase and computer bag. Leave the suitcase behind, grab the haversack and trudge down to the civic center because the trolley doesn’t start ‘till 9:30 am – but the trade show starts at 9:00 am.
Meet and greet customers. Dash-downstairs, leap into the maroon truck and head to the airport. Snake through security, loaf in the lounge, board the bird, land at the layover, delay the departure, ultimately reach Raleigh. Acquire the auto, get some grub, pull into the drive.
Big sigh. HOME! Lights, bed, music, relaxation, warmth.
Wait … warmth? Hmmm – it is a little chilly. “Forgot to adjust the thermostat when I first walked in,” you think to your self. Turn on heat, make a call. End the call, after all, it is 11:30 pm and head to bed. Hmmm – house is still cold. Turn up electric blanket and drift off to sleep.
Awake late on Sunday morning. Snuggle under the covers – because “Damn it’s cold out there!” Wonder about the coldness. Get out of bed. Make coffee. Stare at heat register. Flip fan on manually. Up the temperature. Stand over an air vent. *sigh* Cold air.
Place YET ANOTHER service repair call. Spend day in bed – the only warm place in the house. Consider the option of arson – which would accomplish several goals.
No more housework
Fewer belongings
End the need for repairmen
Heat
