As I'm putting stuff back in my refrigerator I realized I have some food addictions and compulsions. I mean, everyone has condiments, right? The staples, mayo, mustard, catsup, eggs, milk … “normal stuff” .. and I bet in “normal” quantities too. I on the other hand …. Seem to be not so “normal” (SHUT UP! I know this is not a ground breaking revelation) … in that I have entire collections of the basics:
Mustard Addiction:
- Cranberry Mustard
- Dijon Mustard
- "Country" Dijon Mustard
- Whole Seed Dijon Mustard
- "Seeds -n-Suds" (Red Seal Ale) Mustard
- Spicy Mustard
Jelly Compulsion:
- Red Currant Jelly
- Blackberry Jam
- Red Jalapeno Pepper Jelly
- Seedless Raspberry Jam
- Swiss Plum Preserves
- Mint Jelly
- Peach Preserves
- Apricot Jelly
- Adriatic Fig Spread
- Orange Marmalade
- Grape Jelly
Cheese Collection:
- Goat cheese rolled in rosemary
- Parmesano Reggiano
- Pecorino Romano
- Provolone
- Colby Jack
- Mozzarella
- Pepper Jack
- Aged Cheddar
Other condiments:
- Apple chutney
- Rhubarb chutney
- Tube of Tomato Paste
- Tube of Anchovy Paste
- Soy Sauce
- Lite Soy Sauce
- Fish Sauce
- Hoisin Sauce
- Sweet Chili Sauce
*le sigh*
So much stuff – thank goodness I was able to save it all! (small note: Why are refrigerators and freezer made so difficult to clean?? grrr)
(ps: this does not cover the sour dough starter stockpile, the marinade miscellany, nor the “homemade sauces/reductions” acquisitions).
What assemblages are hiding in YOUR refrigerator?

you don't want to know what's growing in my fridge. anyway - with a list like that - you can set another plate for supper. with a collection like that on hand, you're bound to be a gourmand of the highest order!
Let's see - I have ONE mustard that He likes; I have ONE mayo that I like; ONE flavor yogurt that HE likes; 2 jellys that we ea ch like; ONE kind of lettuce that I like; his eggbeaters; my eggs; ONE kind of milk that we both drink; ONE cottage cheese that I like; ONE sourdough starter that we BOTH like; seems sorta limited by your standards, doesn't it ! *o*
None of those green stuffs from the veggie dept.; infact I hear the sourdough being mixed up for breakfast, tomorrow ! Seems sorta limited, eh ? *o* tp
seems like a totally normal fridge collection to me.....
p.s. why is the soy sauce in the fridge?
Veggies, water, fat free shredded cheeses, fat free margarine spreads, and I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray, couple of bottles of wine, cokes, diet cokes, cranberry juice, mustard, Fat Free Miracle Whip and Mayo, some fresh largemouth bass, and of course a block of 2% VELVEETA!!!!!
I have totally werido stuff myself. I love it.
So, wanna try to catch up this week?
Uhm...you're not the only one without critiques done!!!! Thank God I have off of work tomorrow! I'll have to call to find out which one's are due, since I can't find half of my junk anymore from living out of my car! And if I call, it will only be because you are sweet enough to e-mail me your number again. (I couldn't find my *ss if it weren't attached to me right now!) I'm helter skelter right now...and also in the process of a career jump.
WE MUST TALK!!!
:-)
