My friend Dilly is here for two nights. She is a vegetarian - so I was looking for an interesting, yet inexpensive dish to make for dinner tonight.
I went to one of my favorite magazine recipe sites to look around. I found a great corn/potato chowder recipe. It had pretty good ratings - but I wanted to see what knocked it down from five stars to four stars. So I started reading the reviews.
Someone wrote, "kind of bland. I kicked it up with chicken stock AND ham."
It's a VEGETARIAN DISH ... you cannot "kick it up" with poultry AND pork and say it's a better dish!
Someone else wrote - "followed the suggestions for beefing this up. I used bacon instead of ham. What a winner."
