He is Risen
When I moved to the south I encountered a new Easter Tradition. The Christmas Trees are stripped of their limbs - and made into a cross. During Lent the barren cross sits in Church reminding us of how bleak life is without God.
On Easter Sunday the congregation brings flowers from their yards (or the Kroger) and they decorate the cross. It signals the hope in ever lasting life. (or so I extrapolate).
This is not from my church, but it's a good representation. As I drive around town today, I'll see these sitting out in front of most churches.
He is risen, indeed!
